Carman’s Fun Run, in partnership with Breast Cancer Network Australia, includes a half marathon, 10km, and 5km runs. As a finish line marshal, I managed the drink station, assisted runners, answered questions, distributed medals, and supported pack-down. It was a meaningful and rewarding way to give back

Wilsons Botanical Park ParkRun
Parkrun is a free, community-led event where participants can walk, jog, run, or volunteer. I served as a tail walker, ensuring all participants finished safely. It was also a heartwarming opportunity to connect with others and share my journey as a finalist in the Australia Galaxy Pageant.

65km for Cystic Fibrosis
65km for Cystic Fibrosis is a volunteer-led endurance event in Melbourne, offering participants the option to walk or run distances ranging from 6.5km to 65km, with all proceeds supporting cystic fibrosis research. As a volunteer, I was stationed at a base point along the course where I encouraged participants as they passed, monitored their wellbeing, provided route guidance when needed, and promptly alerted the event supervisor if anyone appeared to be struggling or unwell.

Vets for Compassion - Silent Auction
A Night for Compassion was a silent auction event held to support Vets for Compassion’s nationwide animal welfare initiatives. My role focused on site management and traffic control, guiding guests toward the venue and food trucks, and assisting with parking directions. I also supported the event at the official social media wall by taking photos and helping attendees capture their special moments. Once done, helped pack up all the stuff from the event.

Hearld Sun/ Transurban Run for Kids 2025
The Herald Sun / Transurban Run for the Kids is a vibrant community event dedicated to raising funds for the Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal. The course winds through some of Melbourne’s most iconic landmarks and locations. I volunteered at the finish line, where my responsibilities included setting up drink stations, bins, water tubs, and electrolyte stations, as well as refilling hundreds of cups with fresh water and electrolytes to support participants as they completed the run.

Brunswick Bath Inclusive Gym & Swim Night
As part of their Active Summer of Fun, Brunswick Baths extended their hours until 10pm on February 11, 2023, to host an Inclusive Gym & Swim Night celebrating the LGBTQIA+ community with various activities and entertainment. My role involved engaging with attendees, inviting them to visit the facial massage corner, assisting with queries about the raffle and skincare products on display, and helping with pack-up duties after the event.

Lunar New Year Dragon Boat Festival
The Dragon Boat Festival is a vibrant celebration blending cultural tradition with thrilling races, beginning with the awakening of the dragons and the blessing of the boats to mark the Lunar New Year. I volunteered by assisting attendees with directions to the volunteer and registration counters, and connecting them with relevant personnel for further queries. I was also responsible for taking and delivering coffee and food orders to the Dragon Boat Victoria staff supporting the race participants.

International Women’s Day at Glanbia Performance
Glanbia Performance Nutrition, a leading sports nutrition distribution center, hosted their annual International Women’s Day celebration with a special afternoon tea. I volunteered by assisting with event preparations—shopping for décor, arranging balloons and chocolates, coordinating food orders, creating trivia fact sheets, and organizing an engaging game for attendees to enjoy before the Q&A session with our athlete ambassadors.

The Confident Women Workshop by Georgie K Coaching
Georgie, a confidence coach dedicated to helping women overcome insecurities and embrace self-confidence, led a Confident Women workshop at Glenroy Neighbourhood House in celebration of International Women’s Day. I had the opportunity to share my personal journey and connect with the Merri-bek community. During the workshop, I participated in reflective activities focused on our life experiences and future aspirations. I also shared a few of my stories with the group and engaged in the interactive exercises designed to foster empowerment and connection.

Super Tuesday Bicycle Count
Super Tuesday gathers active travel data at intersections for local councils, tracking travel mode, gender, time, and direction. I recorded user types (walkers, runners, cyclists, scooter riders), gender, traffic volume in 15-minute to 1-hour intervals, and directional flow of movement during early weekday hours to support urban planning.

St Patrick's Day at Berwick Water ParkRun
Parkrun is a free, community event where people can walk, jog, run, or volunteer. For Berwick Waters’ St Patrick’s Day, I was a Marshal—guiding participants, encouraging them, reporting incidents to the Run Director, managing hazards, and ensuring other park users were aware of the event.

Cascades on Clyde ParkRun
Parkrun is a free, inclusive community event where people can walk, jog, run, volunteer, or simply spectate. I volunteered as a Finish Token assistant, where my responsibility was to hand out position tokens to participants as they crossed the finish line, working closely alongside the timekeeper to ensure accurate results. It was a great way to be part of a supportive and active community.

Frog Hollow ParkRun
Parkrun is a free, community-focused event where participants can walk, jog, run, volunteer, or simply spectate. I volunteered as a barcode scanner, where my responsibilities included using the official Virtual Volunteer app to scan each participant’s personal barcode followed by their finish position token. This process ensures that every individual who completes the course receives an accurate result.

KM Reedy Reserve’s 250th parkrun celebratory event
Parkrun is a free, community-driven event where individuals can choose to walk, jog, run, volunteer, or spectate. I volunteered at KM Reedy’s 250th park run celebratory event as a Finish Token assistant, where my role involved distributing position tokens to participants as they crossed the finish line, working closely alongside the timekeeper to ensure accurate race results.

Sea to Source beach Cleanup
Conservation Volunteers Australia organized a nationwide National Day of Action – Sea to Source beach cleanup, and I volunteered at Brighton Beach in Melbourne. Our team successfully collected and recorded 2,818 pieces of rubbish. My role involved selecting areas within the cleanup zone, collecting various types of litter, categorizing them into items such as food wrappers, soft plastics, cigarette butts, polystyrene, plastic bottles, and bags. I then reported the categorized counts to the designated coordinator to assist with the final data collection.

Yash Fashions Women’s Day Sale
Yash Fashion is a Melbourne-based local business specializing in South Asian attire, primarily Indian-style clothing. For their annual Women’s Day sale, I volunteered to assist with event preparations, including setting up décor and supporting customers with outfit and jewellery queries. I guided visitors through different traditional clothing sections, assisted with outfit trials, and also managed behind-the-scenes content, client interviews, and videography throughout the event.

Community Lunch at Brunswick Neighbourhood House
Brunswick Neighbourhood House organizes Community Lunches five times a year, offering free meals to 50–60 local residents—primarily elderly and disabled individuals who may find it difficult to cook for themselves. These lunches not only provide a hearty meal but also a chance for social connection. I volunteered by assisting the head chef with chopping vegetables for the lentil soup and salad, preparing the soup alongside two others, washing dishes, cleaning kitchen benches, setting up tables for serving, and finally helping serve the meals to attendees.

Soul Theatre Incentive
The Merri-bek community funded S.A.F.E.S’s SOUL Theatre workshops, which focused on promoting mental health awareness and supporting community inclusion. I volunteered as a creative contributor and was actively involved in the planning process to help shape impactful and inclusive awareness initiatives.
